Justin Dehel was walking around a parking lot yelling “Go Birds!” — as one does — on a balmy October day in Los Angeles when he and a friend ran into a photographer snapping photos of Eagles fans. They hopped in the picture and yelled about the Eagles with a group of strangers, thinking little of it.
After the Eagles beat the Los Angeles Chargers that day (in what felt like a home game for the Birds), Dehel, 33, of Port Richmond, started getting texts from his friends: “Dude, you’re in the Washington Post.” That photographer was apparently from the Associated Press, and a photo of Dehel, his friend, and that group of strangers was plastered atop a story on the website of one of the biggest news organizations in the country.
