Heart still heavy, Huff not sure he can play at Green Bay

Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff returned to practice Thursday after a two-day absence caused by the death of a friend he called his “godbrother,” but Huff said he didn’t feel his mind was on practice, and he couldn’t say that he will play Saturday night’s preseason game at Green Bay.

Anthony Wayne Joyce II, who would have been 23 on Sept. 7, Huff said, died suddenly on Monday in Texas, where Huff grew up. Huff didn’t want to discuss the details.

This is not the first time since Huff came to the Eagles as a 2014 third-round draft choice from Oregon that he has experienced the loss of someone close to him, he acknowledged.
