Despite wanting to keep the running back in Dallas, Murray chose to take his talents to Philadelphia as a free agent, a fact that Garrett and the Cowboys’ organization had to accept. Earlier this week, the coach explained that he understands the decision because it’s all part of the business.
“Right from the outset his rookie year, he’s been a really good player. Everybody in our organization wanted to keep him. Sometimes the business of the NFL gets in the way,” Garrett said. “Opportunities are better for individual players to go elsewhere, and DeMarco thought that was the case with him and that was the best decision for him to go to Philadelphia.
