A state Superior Court judge ordered former NFL star Irving Fryar and his mother to pay $615,600 in restitution to five lending institutions on Monday, two months after the pair were convicted in a $1.2 million mortgage scheme that was devised by their mortgage broker.
Fryar, a wide receiver who had played for the Philadelphia Eagles and three other teams during his 17-year career, and his mother, Allene McGhee, a retired schoolbus driver, will have to contribute to the total amount in monthly installments.
Fryar, 53, is currently serving a five year prison term at Jones Farm, a minimum security correctional facility in Trenton.
