The answer was Walter Thurmond, one of the most under-the-radar free agent pickups by any NFL team in 2015. Thurmond had played cornerback throughout his entire NFL career, but the Eagles coaching staff saw an opportunity to convert him to safety, and they certainly got the most out of him. Thurmond and Jenkins combined to create one of the most dynamic and versatile starting safety duos in the NFL, with both players having cornerback experience.
Thurmond is scheduled to hit the free agent market, but Jenkins has been locked up for the long run with a new five-year contract.
