Labor Day Weekend is always the toughest for young NFL prospects. It’s the weekend that the roster hopefuls find out if they made the team that they have been playing for over the course of the spring and the summer. For some guys, it’s almost routine as it has happened multiple times throughout the years. For other guys, it’s just the first time, and it could be the last.
On Saturday afternoon, the Eagles made one of their more significant cuts. The team has informed 2017 fourth-round pick Donnel Pumphrey that he has been released. It’s not a shocking move, but it is quite disappointing that Pumphrey could not pan out in the Eagles backfield.
