Former Eagles safety Walter Thurmond reportedly set to retire

Former Eagles safety and Seahawks and Giants cornerback Walter Thurmond is retiring, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

After 6 NFL seasons, former Eagles, Giants and Seahawks DB Walter Thurmond is retiring at the age of 28, according to source.

Originally a 4th round draft pick for the Seahawks in 2010, Thurmond spent four injury-plagued seasons in Seattle as a slot corner. He missed most of the 2011 and 2012 seasons due to injury, but won the Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2013 after missing the first four games of the season due to a suspension for substance abuse.
