Former Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos has aortic aneurysm

Former Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos has an aortic aneurysm and will require open-heart surgery, Saints coach Sean Payton told reporters Friday. The Eagles traded Dorenbos to the Saints last week.

Coach Doug Pederson said he was not aware of the condition.

The aneurysm was discovered during a follow-up physical. Payton told reporters the Saints are trying to get their 2019 seventh-round pick from the Eagles because it was a pre-existing condition.

Dorenbos, 37, played for the Eagles from 2006 through this summer and was one of the most popular players in the franchise.
