Former Eagles draft pick cut from Lions practice squad

Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Donnel Pumphrey was officially released from the Detroit Lions’ practice squad on Wednesday morning.

This marks the second time Pumphrey has been cut by an NFL team this year. The Eagles originally released Pumphrey during final roster cuts in early September.

Despite trading up in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft to select Pump, Philadelphia chose to sign 2018 undrafted free agent signing Josh Adams to their practice squad instead. Adams was promoted to the Eagles’ 53-man roster last week and he had six carries for 30 yards in his NFL debut.
