Former Eagles tackle and New Jersey Congressman Jon Runyan has re-joined the NFL and will serve as vice president of policy and rules administration, the league said Tuesday.
Runyan, who played 14 NFL seasons, served two terms as representative for South Jersey’s 3rd congressional district (2011-15), but he will be involved in regulations in his new role. According the NFL’s statement, Runyan will “serve as Commissioner (Roger) Goodell’s designee for on-field discipline” as agreed upon by the NFL and NFLPA collective bargaining agreement.
“It was my life’s dream to play in the NFL and I am incredibly grateful for the experience those 14 seasons gave me,” Runyan said.
