"It was a great experience being in Philadelphia for the draft last year," saud Peter O'Reilly, the senior vice president of NFL events. "And when the NFL comes to town for Kickoff, fans are very happy, because it means they won the Super Bowl."
The NFL is transforming the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing into a free full-day festival to celebrate the Eagles. The festival opens at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, and runs until 8 p.m., so fans have plenty of time to relocate in order to watch the first game of the regular season between the Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons.
