Early Birds: The Eagles' vertical passing game; Locker room leadership; Injuries on defensive line

1) The Eagles showed more of a willingness to throw the ball deep against Washington. They say it was because of the matchup, but it seemed to change the entire passing game. Sam Bradford completed four passes of more than 20 yards in the air on Sunday; he did not have a single one in the first three games. He attempted eight of those passes. He only had seven in the first three games. Going forward, that could be an encouraging sign for the offense.

“I don't know about going forward,” Kelly said. Sam is taking what the defense gives us.
