1) The answer to what the Eagles would do at nickel came early in Monday’s 26-24 loss to the Falcons when Chris Maragos entered the game and Malcolm Jenkins or Walter Thurmond went to the slot.

Maragos, who is the Eagles’ third safety and is mostly a special teams player, played 36 snaps. That’s 21 more than he took all of last season.

“We were moving the safety down so bringing our next safety in,” coach Chip Kelly said. “We thought Chris played well when he was in there.”

But it was an intriguing decision to move a safety to the slot instead of a cornerback.
