Early Birds: Bill Davis' memories of Sam Bradford; 5 best DBs for nickel; what coaches want in preseason

1) Sam Bradford’s first NFL start came against the Arizona Cardinals. Bill Davis was the Cardinals’ defensive coordinator. He blitzed safety Adrian Wilson 10-15 times around the edge against the rookie quarterback.

“He kept hitting Sam and hitting Sam,” Davis said Thursday, “and it must have been in the third quarter, Adrian comes over to me and says, ‘Hey, Billy D, we are in for a long one. This boy's not rattled. I keep hitting him with everything I have and he won't rattle. I can't shake him.’”

This was Davis’ first exposure to Bradford.
