Earl Wolff continues to miss practice because of knee soreness, and the third-year safety has had trouble getting healthy from an injury that first occurred in 2013. He ended last season on injured reserve and missed much of the spring while recovering. The right knee injury still plagues him during training camp.
"He says he can't run with his knee," coach Chip Kelly said Tuesday.
A fifth-round draft pick in 2013, Wolff showed promise as a rookie but has not done enough to secure a roster spot. With Wolff absent, Ed Reynolds had two interceptions in the preseason opener.
