The Eagles played their best and most complete game against the Saints and won big. The offense rolled up 519 yards and 39 points while the defense forced four turnovers and sacked Drew Brees five times.
It was the kind of game the Eagles needed. After playing some really bad football for four weeks, this is the kind of game that can build confidence. It can serve as a potential “turning point” in a season that has been mired in crushed expectations.
Or, it could all be a mirage.
The flip side is that the Saints are a bad football team in the same way we were describing the Eagles just last week.
