The Eagles signed former Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears wide receiver Markus Wheaton to a one-year contract on Wednesday.
The 5-11, 189-pound brings experience playing from both the outside and the slot in his five-year NFL career. He has 110 receptions for 1,559 yards and eight touchdowns in 58 regular-season games (22 starts). A third-round pick out of Oregon State in 2013, Wheaton has also averaged 23.6 yards on 27 kickoff returns.
In his second and third seasons, the 27-year-old combined for 97 receptions, 1,393 yards, and seven touchdowns.
