Eagles waive RB Kevin Monangai, reduce roster to 75 players

The Eagles waived running back Kevin Monangai, a Villanova product who had been the team's sixth running back on the depth chart. They also officially waived/injured linebacker Emmanuel Acho and placed cornerback JaCorey Shepherd on injured reserve. The moves brought the Eagles to the league-mandated 75 players.

They reached an injury settlement with Acho, making Acho a free agent. He had thumb surgery last week. Shepherd, the team's sixth-round pick, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the first week of training camp.

The Eagles kept punter Kip Smith, who has been kicking while Cody Parkey recovers from a groin injury.
