The Philadelphia Eagles waived Josiah Scott on Tuesday afternoon, according to an official team announcement.
Scott was a healthy scratch for the Eagles’ Week 12 game. With six cornerbacks active ahead of him, he was the seventh guy at his position. And therefore clearly expendable.
The Eagles signed Scott, who previously spent time in Philly, away from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad in mid-October when they were banged up at nickel cornerback and safety. He was brought in to provide more depth there in addition to being asked to play on special teams.
