The Eagles acquired cornerback Dexter McDougle from the New York Jets on Sunday morning in exchange for safety Terrence Brooks, adding more depth to cornerback while removing one player from a crowded safety depth chart.
McDougle, 26, was a 2014 third-round pick by the Jets. He has played in 20 career games for the Jets with no starts. He has seven career tackles and no interceptions. The former Maryland standout went to the same high school and college as Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith.
McDougle missed his rookie season with a torn ACL. He was waived before last season, joined the Jets’ practice squad, and eventually was promoted to the active roster.
