Eagles trade Brandon Boykin for draft pick

The Eagles traded cornerback Brandon Boykin to the Steelers for a 2016 conditional fifth round draft pick, the team announced on Saturday.

The draft pick is conditional upon Boykin's playing time and could become a fourth rounder, an NFL source said. Boykin was unlikely to earn a starting outside spot this season even though he had been arguably the Eagles' most consistent defensive back over the last three seasons. The Eagles prefer their outside corners to be long and thought the 5-foot-9 Boykin was better suited to play in the slot.

Boykin did little to hide his displeasure and in June said that the recurring theme of him not starting was "getting real old.
