The Eagles will trade running back DeMarco Murray to the Tennessee Titans, Murray’s agency confirmed. The compensation in the deal is not yet known, and the deal cannot become official until the league year begins on Wednesday.
Murray, 28, has also reached a new contract with the Titans, the agency SportsTrust Advisors said.
The Eagles will save $4 million in salary cap space with the trade, but they will also take a $4 million hit. They got out of the remaining years on Murray’s contract.
It was considered a boon when the Eagles signed Murray to a five-year, $40 million deal last March.
