Eagles TE Trey Burton signs restricted free agent tender

Eagles tight end Trey Burton signed his restricted free agent tender offer on Monday.

The Eagles gave Burton the second-round tender last month. He is now on a one-year, $2.746 million contract for the 2017 season and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Had another team signed Burton, the Eagles would have right of first refusal on the contract and would have received a second-round pick if they passed. That is moot now that Burton signed the tender.

Burton, 25, had 37 catches for 327 yards and one touchdown last season in a growing offensive role.
