Designating Richard Rodgers to return from injured reserve wasn’t the only tight end news the Philadelphia Eagles made on Tuesday afternoon. The team also announced a change to the practice squad with Billy Brown being cut and replaced by Will Tye.
The 27-year-old Tye originally signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2015. He played 29 games (17 starts) over two seasons with the G-Men and logged 90 receptions for 859 yards and four touchdowns in that stretch.
After being cut but the Giants in September 2017, Tye spent a one-month stint with the New York Jets.
