The Philadelphia Eagles signed free agent offensive lineman Max Scharping, according to an official team announcement.
Scharping, who turns 28 in August, was originally selected by the Houston Texans with a second-round pick (No. 55 overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Scharping made 35 starts in 50 games (including playoffs) with the Texans before they waived him in August 2022. The Cincinnati Bengals claimed Scharping and he made two postseason starts in 34 total appearances.
Scharping has significant experience at both guard positions. Here’s a look at his career snap counts broken down by position via Pro Football Focus:
- 2019 — LG: 1085
