The Eagles did not give Sam Bradford the franchise tag or transition tag by 4 o'clock Tuesday, the deadline for teams to use the tag to keep a player from hitting the open market without compensation or the ability to match an offer.
That means the Eagles have the next five days to try to reach a deal with Bradford before the legal tampering period begins on March 7. Bradford would be free to sign with any team beginning March 9.
It’s not a surprise that the Eagles did not use a tag on Bradford. The cost of such a move -- $19.
