As Free Agency passes by, the Philadelphia Eagles continue to pack on veteran talent. It was announced on Wednesday afternoon that the Eagles are signing former Green Bay Packers tight end Richard Rodgers to a one-year deal.
Rodgers is a 25-year-old tight end who is headed into his fifth season in the NFL. The former third-round pick played the past four seasons with the Packers before being sent off to test free agency. Rodgers was far from a big-time contributor to Green Bay. In his four year span, he totaled for 1,166 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Now, he will get a fresh start with the Eagles, as they plan to use him as the replacement for Brent Celek and Trey Burton.
