Eagles sign a defensive tackle and release a punter

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed free agent defensive tackle Derrick Lott, according to an official announcement from the team. In order to make room for Lott on the 90-man roster, the Eagles released veteran punter Ryan Quigley.

The 25-year-old Lott went undrafted after playing football for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He signed with the Titans last year before being waived in final cuts in August. From there, Lott signed with the Buccaneers' practice squad.

Lott was originally a four-star recruit at Georgia before suffering multiple leg injuries, including torn ligaments in his ankle as a freshman.
