The Philadelphia Eagles are shifting their defensive philosophy, moving away from playing the cornebacks exclusively on each side of the field to strict man-to man coverage, and they believe big free-agent acquisition Byron Maxwell is the man to do it.
Maxwell played in the Seahawks system last season which kept him on one side; however, the Eagles feel he can be more like a Darrelle Revis type and lock down pass catchers all over the field.
Maxwell racked up 39 tackles and two interceptions in 13 games last season.
"We can," defensive coordinator Bill Davis said, via ESPN.
