Philadelphia Eagles pro scout John Lovett has joined the University of California's football team as their new cornerbacks coach, according to a report from Thayer Evans of Sports Illustrated.
"Lovett, 64, moved into the Eagles’ scouting department in January after being replaced as the team’s defensive backs coach, a position he held for two seasons. His hiring reunites him with California defensive coordinator Art Kaufman. Lovett coached defensive backs at Texas Tech in 2012 when Kaufman was the Red Raiders’ defensive coordinator. The two also coached together in the same roles at Mississippi from 1995-98.
