After 15-years of terrorizing NFL defenses and six seasons as an Eagle, Darren Sproles has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the 2019 season.
Sproles ends his career with 3,552 rushing yards and 4,840 receiving yards to go with 55 total touchdowns. There’s no doubting that the ‘little engine that could’ belongs in the Hall of Fame, as one of the best dual-threat backs to ever do it.
Sproles posted a heartfelt letter in which he thanks Eagles fans and reminisces about some of his favorite moments playing in the City of Brotherly Love that you can read here:
The last few seasons have seen Sproles hampered by injuries, but they shouldn’t take away from a glistening career that saw him make three Pro Bowls and of course a Super Bowl ring.
