The NFL Draft is officially over for the Philadelphia Eagles. They end an explosive weekend with yet another defensive lineman in the way of Tulane’s Patrick Johnson.
The Eagles had little in the way of long-term security along the defensive front and that finally changes this weekend. Johnson is a project, but he’s one that comes with plenty of production. He had 10 sacks last season, ranking 2nd in FBS while racking up 14.5 tackles for loss.
While he’s technically an edge-rusher, the Eagles could assign him to their linebacker room for the time being, but the NFL website actually has his comparison as Derek Barnett, which is slightly ironic!
