The Philadelphia Eagles are signing Canadian Football League wide receiver Marken Michel to a futures/reserve contract, according to word from multiple CFL reporters. Note that a futures deal means Michel is not joining the Eagles’ current 53-man roster; he’s being signed for the 2019 NFL offseason.
The Eagles worked out Michel, along with some other free agents, early last week. Here’s what we wrote about the 5-11, 190 pound pass catcher at the time:
Michel has logged 72 receptions for 1,215 yards (16.9 average) and eight touchdowns over two CFL seasons with the Calgary Stampders.
