Eagles release Paul Worrilow

The Philadelphia Eagles released veteran linebacker Paul Worrilow, according to an official announcement from the team. This news helps explain why Worrilow wasn’t in attendance for Sunday’s practice.

The Eagles originally signed Worrilow — a Wilmington, Delaware native — during the 2018 offseason. He figured to compete for a spot on the roster as a backup linebacker and special teams contributor but instead he tore his ACL during the first OTA practice.

The Eagles re-signed Worrilow to a minimum one-year contract earlier this offseason. He was set to compete for a roster spot once again but then he missed a lot of practice time due to lingering knee issues.
