The Philadelphia Eagles waived wide receiver Anthony Mahoungou on Monday evening, according to an official announcement from the team.
Mahoungou, a native of France, originally signed with the Eagles as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft. He played his college football at Purdue.
Mahoungou had some occasional flashes in training camp but he also had a number of drops. I can vividly remember one day earlier this month where he had three in one practice. He was always a long shot to make the Eagles’ roster.
For his sake, hopefully Mahoungou will find a new team to catch on with so he can play on Thursday evening and put some film out there.
