Eagles-Redskins: What Did We Learn?

LANDOVER, Md. – The Eagles’ 23-30 loss to the Redskins had similar traits to their season opening loss in Atlanta. The offense was wretched in the first half, effective through the air in the second, but couldn’t provide the kill shot. The defense kept things close, but couldn’t come up with a stop in the end. But there was so much more to another dispiriting defeat for the Birds. Here’s what we learned:

1. The Eagles are not dead yet. Many moons ago, I covered the Eagles’ doomed 2005 season as The Inquirer’s philly.com reporter. It was a brief stint, but helpful for my eventual full time role as the Eagles beat guy.
