WITH HURRICANE Joaquin changing course, the Eagles and Washington Redskins don't have to.
Weather forecasters reported yesterday that Joaquin was headed farther out to sea and away from the East Coast, which means the Eagles will play the Redskins at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., tomorrow at 1 p.m. as scheduled.
The NFL had been monitoring the situation in the event the severe weather would have forced a postponement or relocation, but Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan lifted a state of emergency in eight counties, including Prince George's County, where FedEx Field is located.
"The governor's office has assured us that based on the current forecast playing the game would have no adverse effect on public safety," the NFL said in a statement.
