SEATTLE -- The Eagles had to play the second half Sunday without their top two running backs. Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles are both out for the game after suffering first-half injuries.
Mathews has a knee injury. Sproles injured his ribs.
The Eagles had to turn to Wendell Smallwood and Kenjon Barner as their rushers. Barner became the punt returner in Sproles’ place.
Mathews rushed for 31 yards on seven carries in the first half. Sproles rushed twice for 15 yards and caught one pass for six yards.
