Eagles practice observations: Jake Elliott shortens the day; Darren Sproles/Nelson Agholor handling kick returns

The Eagles held their eighth practice of training camp Friday (Click here for Days 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7). Here are my observations and notes:

  1. The Eagles held a light practice a day after their most grueling workout. Players were in shorts and shells, and team drills weren’t designed to be very competitive. Tight end Zach Ertz was given a rest day, per coach Doug Pederson. Tight end Richard Rodgers (arm) and defensive end Josh Sweat (ankle) sat out after suffering injuries Thursday.
