The Philadelphia Eagles placed tight end Jason Croom on injured reserve, according to the NFL’s official transaction wire.
Croom reportedly suffered a “significant right patella tendon injury” during the Eagles’ preseason loss to the New England Patriots. It didn’t look good for Croom when the entire team came out on the field to comfort him before he was carted off the field. Now we officially know his season is over.
Croom wasn’t a strong contender to make the Eagles’ 53-man roster but his absence is notable. The Eagles were already looking thin (by training camp standards) at tight end with Tyree Jackson expected to be out for 8-to-10 weeks.
