Eagles officially activate Richard Rodgers, place Joshua Perkins on injured reserve

The Philadelphia Eagles activated Richard Rodgers to the 53-man roster and placed Joshua Perkins on injured reserve, according to an official announcement from the team on Friday afternoon.

This move was expected. The Eagles designated Rodgers to return from injured reserve earlier this week. Doug Pederson also announced that Perkins suffered a knee injury that’ll keep him out for a significant amount of time.

Rodgers figures to be an upgrade over Perkins as the Eagles’ third string tight end. Rodgers was having a good preseason/training camp before suffering a PCL injury that landed him on IR prior to Week 1.
