Neill Armstrong, a first-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1947 and a member of the 1948 and '49 NFL Championship teams, passed away Wednesday at the age of 90.
In his five seasons with the Eagles, Armstrong collected 76 career receptions for 961 yards and 11 touchdowns. In the second of those back-to-back title years, Armstrong was tied for the team lead with five touchdowns.
Armstrong is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jane, who he met and married during his time at Oklahoma A&M, his daughter Gail, sons Neill and Dave, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
