LANDOVER, Md. – There was a slight crevice between Walter Thurmond and Eric Rowe, but it was enough of an opening for Pierre Garcon to find room, make a touchdown catch that deflated an Eagles defense that was battered and tired, and give the Washington Redskins a 23-20 victory Sunday at FedEx Field.
Garcon’s catch, a four-yarder in the end zone, was the deciding score in a back-and-forth second half that left the Eagles at 1-3. It completed a 15-play, 90-yard, game-winning drive against an Eagles defense that had lost starters Mychal Kendricks, Byron Maxwell, and Brandon Bair in the first half.
