Not much has gone right this year for the 2-10 New York Giants, and that doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon. Head Coach Pat Shurmur told reporters today that Jones has a “moderate” high ankle sprain and it’s ‘very likely’ that he’ll miss Monday Night’s showdown with the Eagles.
While he won’t need surgery and there’s a chance the Eagles do still face Jones later this year, it does mean that Eli Manning, the fifteen-year veteran, will be returning to the fold.
Jones struggled heavily against the Packers in week 13, throwing 3 picks in the 31-13 loss, adding to his colossal total of 21 turnovers this season.
