Eagles' injury news not as bad as loss was

NO DEVASTATING injury situations unfolded in the wake of Sunday's loss in Washington, which is about as good as good news gets right now for the struggling Eagles.

A league source said right tackle Lane Johnson (knee) and corner Byron Maxwell (quad contusion) should be able to play this week against New Orleans. An MRI didn't show that inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks' hamstring injury got worse, after he was able to play only 11 snaps, but given the recurring nature of his discomfort, Kendricks probably will sit out this week.

Defensive end Brandon Bair should miss a few weeks with the groin strain he suffered Sunday, but there's a decent chance the Eagles will get linemates Cedric Thornton (hand) and Taylor Hart (shoulder) back this week.
