Eagles In Great Position WIth 24-7 Lead

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- In the second quarter, the Eagles and Jets combined to scored four touchdowns as Philadelphia took a 24-7 lead into the break. The third frame, though, was absent offensive fireworks from either side, as the Eagles were able to maintain their 17-point advantage as precious minutes and seconds ticked off the clock.

After allowing first downs on each of the Eagles’ first two plays from scrimmage to open the second half, the vaunted Jets defense dug in their heels and forced the Eagles into a third-and-20 situation. Philadelphia picked up 9 yards on a check-down pass to running back Darren Sproles and were forced to punt away on fourth-and-11 just short of midfield.
