The Eagles hired former Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator John DeFilippo as quarterbacks coach on Thursday. He joins offensive coordinator Frank Reich to give the Eagles two coaches on the offensive staff who called plays in the NFL last season.
DeFilippo, 37, graduated from Radnor High School when his father, Gene, was the athletic director at Villanova.
He has coached in the NFL for nine seasons, including three stints as a quarterbacks coach. He worked with quarterbacks for the Oakland Raiders from 2007-2008, and then again from 2012-2014. He was also the New York Jets’ quarterbacks coach in 2009 when Mark Sanchez was a rookie.
