Eagles fans, protesters clash over national anthem debate

Eagles fans and protesters clashed outside Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday about whether NFL players should be able to take a knee or otherwise protest during the national anthem.

Around 12:30 p.m., about 20 protesters marched toward the stadium chanting, “Take a knee.”

Some fans gave the protesters high fives, but others responded angrily.

“Put those f– signs down. USA,” one fan yelled at the protesters.

“I hate you! America made,” another said.

President Trump tweeted Sunday that fans should boycott games, following his remarks at an Alabama rally in which he said players who protest or don’t stand should be told, “‘Get that son of a b—- off the field right now.
