The Eagles' compensation in the trade with the Dolphins for cornerback Byron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso will be a move from the No. 13 overall pick in the first round of the draft to the No. 8 selection, a NFL source said.
There had been a report that the Eagles would also receive a fourth-round pick, but the source said the Eagles received only Miami's first rounder.
The Eagles officially announced the trade just after the start of the new league year at 4 p.m.
Maxwell's shoulder almost held up the deal. He didn't pass his original physical and had to be brought back for another exam on Wednesday morning.
