Eagles defense is the reason for a 2-0 start

CHICAGO - Good defenses beat up on bad offenses. Great ones shut down even the best of their opposition. The Eagles are far from knowing whether they are the latter, but Monday night's 29-14 domination of the Bears proved that Jim Schwartz's unit is legit.

You don't hold an offense - even one as suspect at the Bears - to seven points on the road without being genuine. You don't force three turnovers without having opportunistic talent. And you don't sack Jay Cutler three times and knocked him out of the game without an aggressive defensive front.

Jim Schwartz followed up his debut as defensive coordinator - in which his unit held the Browns to ten points - with another impressive game plan.
